:I finally completed my first bullwhip today. I was making two whips
at the same time, and I finally completed one. I used latigo. It is
a very heavy whip like you said, but as for how well it handles, I
have no idea. I have never handled a whip before, so I don't know what
to look for. However, the man who supplied me with the leather and works
in leather crafts, is a deacon in my church and he was cracking the
whip at church tonight, and I was astounded. I have never actually seen a real
bullwhip in action, and to hear the noise coming off that thing was
quite impressive. the pastor came running around the building because he
thought that someone was popping firecrackers it was that loud. Like
I said, I don't know much about whips, but I am quite proud of my first
attempt at whip making. It is a black latigo whip with one braided core
in the belly. I used the book "whipmaking" by Dennis Rush. It is pretty
informative and easy to understand.
