Absinth is totally legal in the UK and is available in many bars and pubs. It's usually the Czech stuff, but you can sometimes find the Swiss version. It has a very high alcohol content to stop you OD'ing on the wormwood. You should pass out before it became harmful. I've tried it myself, well I finished half a litre of the stuff, but not in a night obviously...!
