I saw a letter from someone a few days ago, or was that in my
e-mail....? That said something like: David Morgan has different
people making his whips, which doesn't necessarily mean that HE
made it himself. And then, last week, I e-mailed him to tell him
that I received my bullwhip, and how great it is. I also asked him
a few questions regarding the thickness of the leather, and the
presence of a bolster beneath the handle. And HE said something
like: "It sounds like your whip was cut using thicker leather, but
the most important thing is the taper of the whip, not the thickness
of the leather used."
This, added to that guy's comment, makes me start to think
that maybe each bullwhip is NOT necessarily made by him. Ever since
I first saw his website, which reads: Hand-crafted by David Morgan,
I was led to believe that HE crafted each bullwhip HIMSELF. Now I
am suspecting otherwise... I am really confused.
I mean, what with the price I paid for my whips, and the fact
that they ARE the best money can buy... they SHOULD each be made
by him. I mean, I won't love them any less if I found out that he
didn't make them HIMSELF, but still... I feel a (slight) betrayal
of trust, and a guilty pang...
I will just take Indy's words to heart:
"I'm offering this genuine, American-made bullwhip." At least I know
that it IS that. And at least I know that it was made INSIDE the
David Morgan whip shop, so there IS at least a good possibility
that he actually touched the whips himself before they were shipped
out...which I guess is enough.
