: Well, as to the fedora, Hebert Johnson stated in the distant past that they made two versions of the fedora, one in grey and one in brown. The grey version can be seen in the Clipper scene, and on the steps in Washington. It isn't a misconception, it was based on HJ's statement. The flying boat information was taken from the Paramount prop departments direct statements as to how they had to use the flying boat in the wreck yard that had one working engine, and matt around it. (complete info at IndyGear). Once again, if you saw it flying in another movie, then they must have finally put the thing back together in the past 19 years, as it sure wasn't moving when Raiders was made. Last but not least, you're absolutely correct regarding the holster strap having two holes, and Lee Keplers version HAS the two holes as it's based on one of the actual holsters used in Raiders (once again can be seen at IndyGear), and should be available through Lee now, if not the VERY near future. Noel Howards, as you state, does not have this adjustment. The two hole adjustment is great, by the way, as it was designed for the use with an N-frame revolver, but when I had Lee's prototype in hand, I was able to fit my K-frame into the same holster just fine with the second adjustment hole on the strap. It's a very good all around holster, I'll have to say. Anyway, to repeat the history of the info, at least that's where these three came from. Regards. Michaelson

Well, the plane that I saw in 'Wings Over Water' was a
dead-ringer for the flying boat seen in Raiders. (I wouldn't rely
TOO heavily on what the Paramount prop department says about the
make of the clipper plane. All they had to do was put the illusion
on the screen and make it believable- the story itself doesn't
even address what type of flying boat it was.
Yes, I have seen the Kepler holster. It resembles the M.B.A.
model in every respect but two: the M.B.A. Raiders holster has
that wierd, square brass ring mounted behind the flap, just above
the belt slide holder, and, as aforementioned, the M.B.A. holster
only has a single strap adjust hole, while the Kepler version has
two, as can be seen clearly in the film. But the differences are
so minute as to be practically indiscernable. I am happy with mine.
If the Kepler model had come out first, then I would own a Kepler
model. But I DID order the Kepler Raiders whip carrier, as it is
cooler-looking, and more functional than my M.B.A. model.
