: : : My post of yesterday apparently got caught in the middle of the forum changeout, and is now sitting in the vault with no access for reply. If anyone has any thoughts or theories to my question, I'd really be interested in hearing from you. I'd like to know if there was a method to the madness. My post of 11/11 is titled the same. Regards.

: : My guess is that Rob MacGregor was partial to (or only knew of) Indy's Webley from Crusade. He then wrote a tid bit about how he got it and the other authors, not being huge Indy fans, probably stuck with what they read from MacGregor. Logical assumption?

: Hi!
: Didn't Mola Ram steal Indy's gun? Maybe thoose British (who dress
: nothing like the proud British red coats) could only supply him with
: a Webley and he dicided he liked it? I dunno. In the books (which
: all happen before even Raiders of the Last Ark) he always has a Webley
: and nothing else (Jack Shannon even identifies him by it, a few
: times...). Probably just one of thoose movie boo-boos. LOL! Who
: knows? Perhapse man is not destined 2 ever know...

: Indy can use everything from a Colt to a submachine gun!
: PS- "Don't call him Junior!"

The books were written after the Webley was introduced in the 3rd movie, so the item was created AFTER being introduced in the films. Therefore, we have experinced revisionist history. The books don't support the movie plot, they were created after the fact. And, as it was alread said in another post, Lucas eliminated the revolver from Indy's holster 10 minutes into the 2nd film, so there was no revolver to take from our intrepid hero in India. Regards.
