Felt hats

I once saw a cowboy hat that costed $3,000! Does a higher price mean a better quality of felt fibers? Why does the Young Indy Fedora look completly different than the Harrison Ford Indy Fedora? It looks like the official Lucas Film fedoras. If you have a hat with a origninal lining in it, but it needs replacement and you like the stock lining with company design instead of a generic blank one, can you get linings form the manufacturer?(sp)
