I do not believe they do use aniline. My understanding of that process is that the result is a uniform color throughout the skin. That may be fine for a couch or your cars leather seats, but on a jacket it would reall suck. It would never show the seam wear, selective nicks and scratches, or general patina that makes the jacket you see on screen really cool.
