That scream sound is off of a hollywood sfx CD. It was Boba Fett's canned scream as he fell into the sarlac pit.
My vote for that common sound would be that screech sound that was used for the Imperial walkers turrets. It's also used for airplane engine startups etc.
Many sound effects can be heard in other moves because they come from the same sound effects collection. Another sound I've heard quite often in movies is the sound of the flames starting in The Crow when Draven tosses his zippo to the ground to ignite the flames in the shape of the crow. That whoosh sound of the flames starting up I've heard in lots of movies AND computer games.
