The Indiana Jones Bare Essentials:

Things other than the obvious gear that Indy must be
carrying with him at all times.

- snake repellent
- a canteen
- bag with trail mix (Thank you, Michaelson!)
- notebook and pencil
- waterproof matches
- folding knife
- compass (Hi, Dale!)
- a towel (for swatting at insects/vampire bats, for
hygiene etc. - very multifunctional!)
- a rope (useful for all kinds of things)
- spare bootlaces
- a little bag with talcum powder (many uses)
- fishhooks and fishing-line
- local currency/something to barter with
- binoculars would be nice, but heavy
