They should do something like this:

Indy is off on some adventure as the film opens. He successfully
retrieves the artifact and heads back to New England, to the Museum.
Upon arrival, he is informed of Brody's passing while he was away.
They have a formal funeral for him, and then Indy discovers a letter
meant for him while he is cleaning out Brody's office. In the
letter, Marcus tells Indy of something VERY important, like a clue
to a long-lost treasure, or lost civilization or something. Indy is
determined to find (whatever it is) and fulfill his friend's last
wish. Then, at the close of the film, as the credits start to roll,
it should say:

THIS FILM IS DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF DENHOLM ELLIOTT

That would be the only proper thing to do, I think,
