No, Britain's government (the Labour party) decided to take him off their honours list - the roll call of names nominated to get Knighthoods - due to his enthusiasm for Scottish independence, and pro-campaigning for giving Scotland independent rule.

However, now that they've realised that Mr. Connery deserves recognition for his work they've thankfully left politics to the sidelines and let him get the honour he deserves :-)
