: : To Fall Guy and other new and/or weathered Wested wearers:
: : Hello. Over time do your sleeves stretch and fit better? I've re-read a lot of old posts when people had first acquired their jackets and found them snug in the sleeves. A followup to whether things have improved and to what degree would be helpful to many of us.
: : My jacket hasn't arrived and I'm panicking that if it doesn't fit right, by the time I send it back/Peter adjusts it/returns it, a year will have passed without wearing it! Should I have given arm measurements as well? I workout regularly and worry about the "average" sizing running small? Fall Guy you said you work out right? Confining your upper arms? Tight around the back? I'm not huge like competitive bodybuilders, but at least twice H.Ford from TOD.
: : Still no word from Tyree, huh? Even after the "newsflash" posting.
: : Thanks

: No, not really... I'd say I got a decent biceps. The jacket sleeves
: are snug, but not uncomfortable.
: The sleeve length had me worried First, I measured the shoulder and
: gave it a little under an inch extra. I wanted to be able to wear a
: sweater comfortably. Then I measured the sleeve length from the spot
: where the shoulder measurement ended and measured the length of the
: arm around the bent elbow (90 degrees) and to the first knuckle on
: my thumb. That worked out very well. The sleeves are now maybe half
: an inch too long, but with time the leather should wrinkle around
: the elbow and shorten the sleeve a bit.
: Abou stretching the sleeves: EF told me he inserted volleyballs in
: the sleeves and then inflated them. I wonder if his experiment is a
: success...
: I hope that helps. I'm sure you'll get the jacket before Indy 4 is
: in theaters!

Hmmm...

Sleeve size was a worry for me. I just told Peter what problems I'd had in the past. My upper arms flucuate from about 20 to 22 inches, depending upon where I'm at in my trainig cycle. I didn't want to drop $300 on a jacket I couldn't wear. Peter solved the porblem by dropping the armpit 1 inch. That left plenty of room through my upper arms and shoulders, and preserved the clean lines of the jacket.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!
