Indy in 1959

After reading posts about Boam's script being set in 1957 and reports that the film would be in 1959, I'm curious to know the reasoning behind the date.

Indy 4 has already taken much flak for Indy having to be a lot older, why would they want to add another decade to his life? Could this advanced date be intended as the final film in the series, set to follow the fourth installment?

The story potential is there, and now it appears as though Ford would be open to the idea. If everyone can be optimistic about two more Star Wars films, I see no reason Indy couldn't 'ride again' more than once.
