: : : For Raiders of the Lost Ark, Burmans & Nathans Costumiers contracted with Wested Leather (at the time Leather Concessionaires) to make the jackets for Harrison Ford. Between the making of Raiders and the making of Temple of Doom, so the story goes, Wested apparently committed a faux pau by doing work on a James Bond film outside the normal channel of working through Burmans & Nathans. This apparently created some bad blood. When the time came to make the jackets for Temple of Doom, Burmans & Nathans apparently decided to return the favor, and side-stepped Wested, going with the much talked about but never identified French supplier.

: : : The story further goes that Harrison Ford absolutely hated these jackets. Given that, Burmans & Nathans agreed that Wested would be given the contract for the Last Crusade jacket.

: : : We can draw from this that Wested did not make the Temple of Doom jackets.

: : : So the story goes
