If it matters for you: be sure to request HJ to tack your bow parallel to the ribbon, and to smooth out their dimensional cuts. The ribbon detail I believe they genuinely forgot how they used to do it. And the rough cuts approximate the original "rough N ready" look of the hat. You can barely see them on mine, but I like humanness of the look as compared to the factory die-cut. Hope this helps.
RE: wear & tear purposes, Patterson posted something similar below but for ease:
Rabbit=all seasons,live through anything and always look good. Manageable cost
Beaver=more exotic, beautiful feel, limited durability to varied conditions. Expensive
Wool=for your kid. Don't bother thinking about it. Cheap
