Temple of doom Chinese 101

After watching the Temple of Doom with my mother (who is fluent in Mandarin Chinese) I found that the beginning sequence is spoken in Cantonese Chinese (rare considering Mandarin is more widely spoken and Cantonese is only really spoken by people near Hong Kong). Short Round seems to speak Cantonese also, but (though it's not spoken all to well) Indy (or Harrison Ford) speaks to Shorty in Mandarin. (Specifically he says, "watch this, do like this.") Bit of some Indy trivia for the Indyfans here. For now I'm going to check up on this by watching Temple of Doom again.
