Just kidding (I hope)! Aldens are great: They get very soft very quickly and are really comfortable. I don't like to shine them; I hate it when brown leather shoes are shiny! Instead I use a cream that makes them water repellent and conditions the leather at the same time.
Two minor complaints: At first the upper edge chafed my ankle a bit (that problem disappeared after a few days, when the leather got bent in shape), and when driving, the tongue of my right foot has a tendency to wander off to the right - must be caused by the alternating use of throttle, clutch and brake...
