: Exactally how common was it to ship chickens in a small, two engine plane across Asia? Was this a standard practice?
Livestock shipment was pretty regular into the mountain regions, as the only other way was to ship by trail, and there were very few in existance into the mountains of China. Still are, for that fact!
: Also, where was Indy going exactally? When he reaches the Village and Pankot (sp?) he says that he has to get back to his university. So why was Indy taking the 'long way?'
If you'll remember, it was the only transportation that could be arranged at such short notice. He really didn't have the choice, so apparently he planned to make a second connection back toward the US.
Of course, this is all theory regarding the flight. The chicken question, though, is indeed a matter of record. Strangely, or interestingly enough, we're STILL shipping chickens in the Orient via plane, though the chickens are already packaged and frozen, as poultry is a staple food in that region. You'll find most of the main Tyson chicken farms located here in the South, and Internation flights leave everyday from Huntsville, ALA. taking load after load in their direction. They must LOVE their chicken! Old Col.Sanders would have been proud! (grins)Regards. Michaelson
