: Im worried about a minor glitch in my new aldens. You know where the sole meets the upper on the sides? At the part that runs around the front between the sole and the upper, where it ends about 3/4 of the way around the boot,i can see right in under the upper of the boot. Its only on the right hand boot, but im afraid that if water gets in(which it more that likley will in our weather) that it will damage the boot.Thoughts anyone? Best regards,Kenneth.

: : : I have had my Aldens for over a year now and have been very impressed save one thing - the heels.

: : : First the rubber heels have worn down to nearly nothing - not very durable. Also about 3 months into wear, the leather piece in the heel just above wood and before the sole began falling out in small chunks. It's nearly halfway round the heel in the right boot and starting to stick out in the left.

: : : Anyone else having this problem?

: : I, too, experienced that, but only had one of the wooden shims fall out of a heel, which I had reglued by a cobbler near by, and have had no problems since. My heels are getting pretty run down too, but this is after daily wear of 13 months. Not to shabby considering. You must walk a LOT more than I do, but I agree totally with your observations. Regards. Michaelson
