I disagree. :) It was not a simple guessing-game, where the water/cup was poisoned as the penalty for losing, and if you picked the lucky cup, you got to live, and get your picture taken with Vanna White.
Rather, it was the life-giving power resident in the Grail itself that made it so special. By that argument, it is possible that the water was poisoned, but I think that the enchantment in that temple worked both ways, where choosing the wrong cup (due to haste and greed) results in death.
