Go out and get some Doc Savage books. He is the original 1930's adventurer. I have every one of them, and it is because of Doc that I became such an Indiana Jones fan. Great high adventure stuff. A little bit formulaic, but I still love 'em. You can find them at most used book stores. Some of them are quite collectible and command a pretty good price though.
