Again - it's in the form vs. function aspect of the jacket. While some may find the gussets unattractive, and others find them difficult and expensive to incorporate, they make the jacket function the way it ought to. That was one big difference between the Raiders jacket and both of its predecessors - it was designed to be a functional stunt jacket, and an attractive prop, if you will. You don't see the functional aspect of the other two jackets - at least I don't - on screen. They became just part of a costume...

The temple jacket really doesn't get much screen time. In the stunt scenes, the nature of the stunts does not really push the jacket - i.e. "just hold onto the rubber raft". I'd like to take a look at the thuggee ritual scene again to see how the jacket does when he swings across the chasm?

The LC jacket does get involved in some stunt work, but again, it really rides up quite a bit whenever the arms go much beyond 45 degrees - i.e. "put gussets on that jacket".

Oh, well - I'm enjoying these exchanges. Good discussions at last.

Cheers!

Patterson
