Gussets 101...

Hey Matt,

The gussets were only in the Raiders jackets. Basically they are pleats under the arms. Think of the pleats on a pair of pants - these pleats are closed on only one end. A gusset is a pleat closed on both ends - it creates a pocket of material that opens and closes with movement, allowing for freer movement without the jacket riding up as much as it otherwise would. It also allows the clothing to be more form fitting while still allowing a great deal of mobility.
