looks like I'm not the only one who found the answer by the time I posted this. anyway the info I found shows the plane seems to be the pilatus P-2 ,unfortunately for continuity, from around 1945 and served through '82 as a trainer designed for operation in the swiss mountains with a Czech built version of the german argus engine
