: : : In fact Indy's hat is a "Trilby" according to the HJ website, and the information I have recieved from them.

: : : As one of the posts below points out, the fedora is a flimsy littles thing and was considered the "poorman's Trilby". The trilby is somewhat more rigid, and looks dressier...but, as our man Indy has shown us, with a little beating - It can be a piece of every adventure.HERBERT JOHNSON'S SUPERB RANGE includes many variations of the traditional English Trilby Hat. From neat formal shapes for city gents to roll-up travellers and flamboyant felts for the races, these hats are made from the finest furfelt which is long wearing and weather resistant.

Here's what it says:

"HERBERT JOHNSON'S SUPERB RANGE includes many variations of the traditional English Trilby Hat. From neat formal shapes for city gents to roll-up travellers and flamboyant felts for the races, these hats are made from the finest furfelt which is long wearing and weather resistant."

It's hard to read the style names on the page there, but I think the one towards the bottom on the left is the "Poet". Its a high class store and they probably reason that if they sell it, it's a "trilby".
Cheers!
