Well, the only real noticable differences between the mk VII and the mk VI are that the mk VI has a extra flap on the back of it with access to two little pockets. And the mk VI has a couple of little brass d-rings on the frount of it. The major difference between the two are the price. The Mk VII (being the one used by Indy) is harder to find and more expensive. The Mk VI (used mostly as a stunt bag, like when the stones burned the bag) is easier to find (prolly, because Indy fans scoop up the Mk. VII's) and usually cheaper because it isn't wanted as much. I personally wanted the Mk VI because I figured it would be in better shape. Not to mention my wife really gets on my case when I spend too much money on "my Indy stuff".
