Not correct, Josh. I have washed mine in the machine for years with no problems what so ever. Just follow the instructions at the IndyGear FAQ and you should have no problems, unless your bag is already suffering from terminal dry rot from years of storage. If so, not even hand washing will save the bag. Regards. Michaelson

: Hand washing is the ticket. You can not wash the bag in a machiene, it will harm the bag. Washing by hand is gental and will not damage the bag it self. After you get it out of the water and begin the drying prosess put some vasaline on the metal parts. It will help stop rusting or anythinf else.
