What is a moratorium of licensing, and what does it mean....as for Indy in 2 years, that would make my millenium!!!

: I was told earlier today that Lucasfilms had placed a moratorium on licensing of the Indiana Jones intellectual property due to the fact that a sequel was IN PRODUCTION. In a previous company I had worked for, I had contacts that regularly conversed with Lucasfilms legal counsel - both external and in-house. I have just confirmed with those old friends that Lucasfilms considers a sequel to be IN PRODUCTION, and will not be licensing any further products in light of such.

: Here's where Patterson begins to speculate: Those same non-Lucasfilm sources (the folks I used to work with) confirmed the last time this happened was communicated to them in November of 1987 - approximately 18 months before the release of Last Crusade, if my memory serves me? Also, this may be the explanation for the freeze on the DVD releases? Release of Indy IV for Memorial Day in 2002? I’m MUCH more hopeful!

: Cheers!
