FACT: INDIANA JONES IV is NOT in production. Spielberg is currently working on A.I., and will be booked for AT LEAST another years before any window for INDY IV could possibly be available. Lucas is in the post stages of EPISODE II, and Ford is currently mulling over what will be his next, immediate project, including INSOMNIA, AMERICAN CAESAR, and others.

FACT: Contrary to what most folks think, INDY IV isn't even in pre-production. The correct term is ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT. Pre-production entails the specific, paid work of hired hands working immediately up to the start of the shoot, including art designs, scouting, casting, etc. ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT suggests that the project is on its way to being greenlit, with talent to be finalized and the script to be refined.

It is highly speculative and irresponsible to make such implications based on rather inconsequential "evidence". That INDY IV will happen anytime this year, or even up through 2002, is highly unlikely.

I assure you that once the project is even REMOTELY underway for filming, EVERYONE WILL KNOW. It will be front page news in VARIETY and HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.
