Hmmm...Nail polish remover is supposed to be basically acetone. I am very surprized to hear it went white. Acetone is clear. The tanning is dark brown. I used regular acetone on a new lamb Wested. I would get some regular acetone and practice on some leather until you figure out what is going on. As far as the oder goes, it evaporates very quickly and should be gone in a few hours unless there is some extra ingredient in that particular brand of nail polish remover.
