: Surprisingly, never when I've *ever* ordered a hat, have I ever specified an Indy-specific look, but with the great work from PB, I'm thinking of doing just that...

: Has anyone here ordered a ROTLA styled hat that didn't focus on the pinch, but rather the squared-look of the top of the brim?

: To see what I'm talking about, look where the crown crease reaches the top of the hat. Normally, this causes a dip down (and a little valley) when the sides move towards the middle, but in ROTLA, it appears as if you could sit a rule across the top of the crown and it'd lie flat.

: I'm suspecting this is due to a very high crown with a very slight center dent.

: The second unique feature is the severe forward pitch of the front brim, most obvious in the hooka room scene.

: Anyone specified that?

I know exactly what you are talking about. Both of my hats from PB were fashioned from some pics that I sent Joe. I didn't look at your pics, just too lazy to do the travel. I did discover something important with my first PB fedora. Bear with me on this. My first hat Joe actually tapered like the TOD fedora, and the front pinch was low, only 4 3/8 high. I pulled out the steamer and steamed the top of the hat along with the front, pulling the crown outward( it had a real deep dent in the top) and also extended the crease up to 4 3/4. In the process, I had to make the top dent shallower. When I was finished, I immediately noticed that I was holding the first Raiders styled fedora right in my hands! It has that look you are referring to. If you want to replicate it, here are the as received specs on that first fedora. Open crown height 5 5/8 inches.( I had specified 5 7/8) Brim, 2 3/4 x 2 5/8. I had him turn up the sides of the brim a bit, like the pics. I wear a 7 1/4. This new PB fedora arrived with a 5 7/8 open crown, 4 3/4 on front pinch, and this difference doesn't allow it to have that squared off look. To get it, I will have to extend the front pinch upward to achieve the exact same look as my first fedora. I may get around to it eventually, but it looks Indy like in its present state. This isn't Joes fault, as I insisted that he adhere to my specs. But all is easily fixed using just a bit of steam, and 5 minutes of time. Regards, Fedora
