Michaelson, actually the price is $270.00. I have no idea why the price is listed as being that high in the Indy's diggs page. I'm not sure what you mean by a hard or velour finish. It is fur felt and is soft to the touch. If you could describe more what you are asking me I might be able to help. And I do remember one person in the forum that was very opposed to HJ hats and he insisted that Gary white's was more accurate, I think his name was Isaac.
