: Sometimes it's better to leave well enough alone. We don't make
: a Wizard of Oz II movie. We don't make more John Wayne character based
: films. I have yet to really throw my hand at screenwriting professionally (other
: than a short indie I did last summer), but working in the industry
: I don't always work with the industry. I'm no where near the left
: wing in politics, and I don't always find it neccessary to Hollywoodize
: historical films beyond historical fact (Tombstone..great movie..totally
: blown out of proportion.) What I'm trying to get at is, Hollywood
: would only continue Indy beyond Ford/Lucas era to make money.
: James Bond is a prime example of that, sure they're still entertaining...but
: we don't watch Indy to be entertained...We want to be 'apart' of the
: adventure. And it's a smart mans movie...Not just tanks blowing up
: cities and helicopters crashing into glaciers. Sure, you can replace
: Ford with actors who fit the bill...but would the story content be as strong without
: influences from Lucas, Spielburg, Ford (almost the three biggest household
: names) All it will take is ONE bad movie to ruin a legacy. If you
: want to take the risk....go for it. I just can not see another indy film with ALL new faces,
: behind the scenes crew giving us the same quality material. And that's the bottom line.
: Quality material. If you can pull it off, I'll call up some of my people
: to call your people and we'll set it up.

Personally I wouldn't mind if Indy has been replaced... and I don't mean turn it into Bond having another pointless adventure every two years. But maybe space them out three or five years, giving time for excellent plots to develop. By the time Ford get's too old for Indy (Which I don't think will be anytime soon.. I'm talking when he's DEAD) then there may be someone who can take on the fedora, there are also budding Directors in the works, I bet one of the most famous directors in future film history may be born tommorow! I have loved the Indy films for as long as I can remember (It's funny I can't even remember what I had for breakfast this morning!) so I'm not against the adventure continuing. As long as the plots good, and the actors are good, I think it'll be fine. I DON'T want Ford to quit any time soon, but it would be nice to see a bit of Indy in his years before ToD, and after LC (which Ford could play)

I actually hope the series doesn't end any time soon.

Just my worthless 2 cents,
