I own a 16' nylon from Mark Allen, besides a 10' and 12' roos ordered from him as well. Even though I was still a whip greenhorn when I got them, I could easily crack both 'roos, while all I could make the nylon do was an impotent "whoosh". I thought it was too long and I'd never be able to get a crack out of it. First of all, the nylon "thong" (or the body of the whip) is much lighter than a leather one, so it's difficult to give it the necessary momentum (and remember about the length of that thing!), but once you get proficient at whip cracking, I'd say you can get a crack out of anything. Suffice it to say that I can do some multiple cracking with my nylon (like 3 cracks in a row). To tell you the truth, I bought the nylon in order to have a cheap, long whip to swing from, but interestingly enough, I have yet to try it. I kinda like that long sucker, yeah. Wouldn't want to break it.
BTW, the nylon is black and has a swivel handle, but it doesn't swivel much.
