: : : Wow...I recently discovered this page today at 10 in the morning eastern time...It is now 3 o clock....Call me obsessed call me a freak but I cant leave this site! I love it! This is by far the coolest site in relation to Indy....I look forward to participating in this site!!Anyhow...I gotz a few questions...With the scene in Raiders with the sword dude~What really caused that scene? Was Indy hella sick and simply shot him instead of going through a big fight scene as planned? or was it that during filming...He did it as a joke and the scene stuck? I know you guys can answer that. Can anyone give me some info on the changes being made in the Indy special edition? Thanks. THIS SITE KICKS ASS

: : Harrison Ford was indeed sick the day that scene was filmed. They tried several takes, until Ford, absolutely worn out, said, and I quote, "why don't I just shoot the S.O.B.?" They tried it and called it a day. That's the shot that went in the movie. By the way, Welcome! Check at the top of the page the different numbers. Those reflect the "vaults" that all the forum messages age stored. That will tell you a lot about how long this has been around. Regards. Michaelson

: Welcome, Mr. Kim. I am Mithrandir. If thou art not well versed in literature, I am also known as Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings. Yes, this site kicks ass, and will continue kicking ass well into the afterworld, or apocalypse or whatever. But thou hast questions. Michaelson was indeed correct. I have here in my lap The Films of Harrison Ford. In the summary of Raiders, Ford had dysentery, which was going around the set. (BTW, Michaelson, I'm just expanding on what you said, not discrediting you). There was also logic in the change, as Indy needs to find Marion rather than fight five minutes with el sword-swinging dude. The quote I have here, from Ford's recollection of the experience, is "Let's just shoot the sucker!" Michaelson may be right, however. Poke around my questions. Most of them are in Current and Archive 15. I was also known as Tommy K. Look forward to your answers.

No problem, and no discrediting(?) taken. I just couldn't remember how to spell dysentery. His statement, though, was taken directly out of another book I own, and as usual, can't remember the exact title, but deals with the collection of Lucas's Star Wars and Indiana Jones props, as well as the movie story lines. Placing myself in Fords situation, after several takes of a very intense fight scene in arid heat, and fighting the "trots", I would have said those exact same words, but probably a little stronger! Regards. Michaelson
