: cable modem is good...but the more users the more it bogs down...dsl is the best.....anyways...a tcp/ip is protocol used by companies like mindspring or earthlink.....it doesn't run all the information through the server the same way that aol does. everything is more direct, therefore faster....aol is a shell to the internet....tcp/ip is a direct internet connection...it is faster and has better application...it isn't as user friendly....actually thesedays it is just as user friendly...the computer does all the installing by itself...
