: With replica guns being as good as they are (hell, even a black plastic cheapie), if someone draws on you and you have a gun, you're going to shot back if you think it's real. Sounds as though the victim was just playing around at the party and thought the officer was just another party goer.

: Remember the Laser Tag game of years ago? It happened then too when a cop responded to a call at a school after hours. Kids were using the school for Laser Tag and one of them jumped out and pointed a Laser Tag pistol at the cop. All the officer could see was the dark form and shape of a pistol and person. Instinctively pulled his weapon and shot.

: Let's remember about those officers that have hesitated too and the results are reversed.
