: : After reading so many glowing reviews of the Peter Bros. fedora, I
: : visited their website. Now I'm confused -- the site says they can make
: : the hat to any brim width, crown height, ribbon width, etc. Well, all
: : I know is my hat size. I have no idea what crown height or brim width
: : or ribbon width to specify, etc.
: : Do any of you have any suggestions? What are the authentic dimensions?
: : Are Peter Bros. selling so many Indy hats that all I have to do is ask
: : for one in my size and all will be well? If I tell them I want more of
: : a ToD look than Raiders, is that enough information too? Or will I
: : really need to provide these various dimensions?

: : Thanks for your

: The open crown-height is 5.5 and the brim is 2.5 (sides) and 2.75(front and back). The Raiders hat was the tallest with a straght-sided crown and tight pinch at the front. In Temple of Doom the hat was shorter with a more tapered crown, and in The Last Crusade the pinch was not as tight as in Raiders and not as neat. The ribbon is in a darker brown, almost black and 1.5. In Raiders the color of the hat was a dark brown but in Temple of Doom the hat was in a lighter brown. For the Raiders look I would take a higher open crown. I you talk to Joe Jr send him some pictures of the look you want, this would help. The sidewalls of the hat should be parallel to each other if oyu want the Raider look.
: Hope this could help
