tasty treats disguised to look like guts and weird things...
Some simple "exotic" foods might lend the flavor of foreign travels: humous and pita bread, salsas and tacos, peanut butter soup, dates...
You could also take a tip from the French and hide a small toy or prize inside a cake; good luck upon the person who gets that slice. Nothing plastic though, obviously...
Basically, let the kids get good and dirty, eat weirdo food, and use strange artifacts to lead them towards solving intellectual puzzles, and you've got an Indiana Jones party. You might even think about letting your 6-year old go without shaving for a couple of weeks. Just kidding, have fun.
