I don't see the difference between "next millenium" and "the next millenium." I don't think "the" makes that significant of a difference. I can't remember what they said exactly, but since you're the one invoking lawyers here, I'll quote you. You said "in the next millenium." That is a period from Jan 2001 to Dec 3000. Even if they said "beginning of the next millenium," before 2500 would qualify.

I thought it was odd that they used the millenium terminology in their promo. I immediately suspected they were trying to give themselves wiggle room. Marketing folks are very clever about that. Just take release dates like Summer 2000. Normal folks immediately think June or so, while summer doesn't actually end until mid-September. It gives them a buffer zone (which they tend to break anyway - with no legal repercussions, I might add).
