Good point but I'd ad this - it does cross-genres effectively because it adheres to genre conventions. The audience has a certain set of expectations for a genre film, and "Raiders" delivers the goods. The bad guys are punished, the good guys walk off hand in hand - but not all is a happy ending. There's this wonderful little ambiguous twist with the ark that makes it a far more compelling film that the other two. You're dead on - in fact, there's entire sequences in all 3 films that are derivitive of James Bond films, and the casting of many of the same actors who have worked in Bond is interesting to note. Let's continue on!
