The VIP has a softer shine to it that is about as close to, say, a brand new non-distressed Wested lambskin, but I think the naked cowhide is actually softer. Once thing about the VIP, though, is it is a VERY heavy weight jacket, so factor that in on your decision. If you're looking for a jacket that will serve you well in a cold winter, then this is the one. Regards. Michaelson

: From looking at the US Wings website, the VIP seems to be a "newer" looking jacket, whereas the vintage cowhide seems to be more distressed, or at least look more worn. Does that seem correct to you?
