I know what you mean...I have to find a buckle that's even remotely usable..nonetheless accurate.

I couldn't tell you what 'exchange is' but what does it matter?
Your willing to pay a hefty price for a strap and buckle..so
the exchange shouldn't be a worry....I doubt it's too much for
you to handle.

and a side note: was watching Crusade last night and when Indy's
hanging off the side of the tank's #1 side cannon, if you pause it...you can
see a good view of the buckle...backside of the strap and all. Just
keep hitting the ole' 'slow' or 'pause' button frame by frame.

After seeing that I do believe there are quite a few bags (including
that worthless diagram on the indygear site) that [seem to be] way off the
scale. I have yet to see a Noel strap..so that one might still
fit the bill..and it's not that it really matters. If I can get
an accurate strap..sure..but like most here, as long as it doesn't fall off
or look like a purse strap...it'll work for me.

Has anyone else noticed this? The strap seems to double loop and
do all sorts of wierd stuff on the backside of the buckle.
