The new movie should pick up where the first movie left off....that is, with the Ark still crated up in that government warehouse. That Ark is still there and it can't stay lost forever.

I remember when I first saw Raiders (in a drive-in if you can believe it), at the end I said, "oooh, what a perfect finish for a sequel", now after two sequels, the question of the Ark's fate remains a mystery. (Although I hear they have TOP men working on it.)
