: : : : : There is a wierd HJ fedora. I don't think it is a poet. The crown is very short. Maybe it is another style that this guy tried to modify. There might be a problem with the photo being squashed.

: : : : That's mine. It's my old Herbert Johnson, and yes, it is the Poet. I've had it for over 5 years.

: : : Hi Greg. I am interested in this hat. Are there any holes, etc in the hat? Any stains on the exterior that would be hard to remove? E-mail me if you don't mind, and give me a run down on this hat. Many thanks, Fedora

I just got an "undeliverable mail" reply. Are you sure your email is listed properly? Anyway, hopefully, you'll read here:
No, there are no stains on the outside of the hat. There is a small spot on the left pinch but I wouldn't call it a stain. I think it is just dust, but would be removeable with a damp cloth and a brush. The only staining inside the hat is water staining on the lining. Unfortunately, after installing the new lining from HJ, I got caught in a rainstorm with the hat and the nice new white lining got water stained. But you can buy a new lining from HJ for about $15 and they're not difficult to install yourself. HJ only glues their linings in, but you can either use milliner's glue yourself or use a loose running stitch to hold it in.

hope that helps!

Greg
