no wonder he's so stern, infantry battles can really mess a person up. Is there a YIJ where it showed him on one of the Battles?(nm)

: : : If you are familiar with Lucas's Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, then you know that Countess Sophie of Austria was Indy's first love when he was 10 years old -- I guess you can call it puppy love. His first real, mature love, was Vicki -- a beautiful, intelligent, woman, working on women's suffrage issues. He met met while living in London in either 1915/16, just prior to leaving for Europe to fight in WWI.

: : : Check the records...

:
: Indy enlisted in the Belgian Army in May 1916 because the Americans were not yet involved. He first fought in the infantry, fighting in the battles of Verdun and the Somme. He was then transferred to the Africa campaign where he fought in the Congo area and East Africa. He then joined French intelligence and served in Palestine (with friend T.E."Lawrence of Arabia") and then in aerial reconnaissance over the Western Front. From there he went to northern Italy and northern Africa --still with intelligence. He finished the war serving still with French intelligence in Istanbul. He later served as an American translator at the Versailles Conference in Paris.

: Lucas devised this life for Indy. I can't stand people that are so snobby that they think only the Indy movies are legitimate. It was Lucas's intention to have Indy's ENTIRE life in movie form --from birth to death. Unfortunately, poor ratings forced the cancellation of the YILC in 1993, before Lucas could complete his original idea of chronicling Indy's "pre-trilogy" days.
