: You have to progress through the ranks to get to eagle scout. The order is: Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, and then Eagle. So it is possible for Indy to have been Life scout in the movie, and shortly after that plot took place, Indy advanced to eagle rank.
