Well, being a comic buff and a fan of Spidey for about 14 years I must say they've done an okay job with the casting. Sure Chris O'Donell (sp?) would make an okay Spidey of today but (big but) this movie is focusing on the original idea of Spider-man, a nerdy kid with short brown hair and glasses that suddenly gets some awesome powers. You have to remember Peter Parker was also known as "Puny Parker" and picked on as a teenager and a real bookworm. At the same time he has always been displayed as average height and Toby McGuire is about that (Leno is HUGE, so of course McGuire seems small by comparison). Spidey didn't really buff up until later and even now the artists of Marvel are trying to return him to his original image and skinnying the character up a bit (hey for a while there they almost had him start wearing his glasses again.)

Cheers!
West
P.S. Sorry about the long off topic post but I've always gone for the adventurous characters Indy, Spidey, and all.
