Sneaky marketers... What they really meant was that you can't buy it from LucasArts after Dec. 8. If you look at the Company Store it says that "due to overwhelming demand, the LucasArts Company Store has sold out." Then, they refer you to Blockbuster.com where you have yet another deadline, Dec. 18, to get it in time for Christmas.
