Kevin, there will be more Indy novels (probably) but not until the release of the next movie. That's just how the business works. The novels never really took off-- that's not my opinion, it's just a simple fact from the editors at Bantam-- so there wasn't much of a push to keep the book series alive.
I think another publisher might have handled it better-- after all, there are Hercules and Xena novels, even a Buffy the Vampire Slayer series, why couldn't they market Indy the same way? In any event, the publishing world won't move on the novels until the spotlight is on Indy again, ie. another movie. Then you see a movie tie in novel, doubtless followed by another attempt to create a successful novel series. Don't be surprised if there is an effort made to de-canonize the existing novels, though.
For what it's worth, the editors who worked at Bantam during the release of all the Indy novels are no longer with the company, so who knows what will happen.
